U.S. President Donald Trump received a newly established peace prize from the Fédération International de Football Association (FIFA), in a move that reflects the ongoing closeness between the two parties.

The announcement of Trump receiving the award was made during the 2026 World Cup draw ceremony held in Washington, giving the upcoming tournament a stronger association with the American president.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino praised Trump’s efforts toward promoting peace around the world, stating that his record in recent years justifies awarding him the prize.

Trump said, “It is a great honor for me to win the FIFA Peace Prize.”
