Trump Gives Maduro One Week to Leave Venezuela… Maduro Requests Full Pardon.

Media outlets reported on Tuesday that the U.S. administration, led by President Donald Trump, gave Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro a deadline—which expired last Friday—to leave Venezuela along with his family.

According to Reuters, citing informed sources, Trump held a phone call with Maduro on November 21, during which he rejected most of the Venezuelan president’s requests but informed him that he had one week to leave the country for a destination of his choice with his family.

The “safe passage” deadline expired on Friday, prompting Trump to announce the closure of Venezuelan airspace the following day, Saturday, November 29.

The same sources indicated that Maduro had requested Trump lift sanctions imposed on more than 100 Venezuelan government officials, some of whom are accused of human rights violations, drug trafficking, or corruption.

Maduro also expressed his willingness to leave the country, provided he and his family receive a full legal pardon—including the lifting of all U.S. sanctions and the dismissal of a prominent case he faces before the International Criminal Court.

These developments came as Maduro appeared before a crowd near the presidential palace, affirming his “absolute loyalty” to the Venezuelan people, surrounded by senior officials from his government.
