The Iraqi Minister of Migration and Displacement, Ms. Evan Faeq Jabro, emphasized the importance of strengthening protections for women and enacting robust laws that safeguard their rights and prevent all forms of physical or psychological violence.

In a post on the platform X (formerly Twitter), the minister stated:

“On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the need to enhance protection and enact strong laws that preserve women’s rights and prevent all forms of physical or psychological violence becomes even more evident.”

Ms. Jabro added that

“The progress of societies is measured by how much they respect women and grant them their rightful role in building and development.”

She concluded by affirming:

“As Iraqis, we continue to believe that women deserve their rightful place and that their efforts and sacrifices will always be the foundation of our nation’s advancement and prosperity.”
