Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani received a phone call from the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Masoud Pezeshkian, in which he congratulated the government and people of Iraq on the successful completion of the sixth legislative elections. He described the results as a true reflection of the will of the Iraqi people.

President Pezeshkian also congratulated Mr. Al-Sudani and his political coalition, "Reconstruction and Development," for securing first place in the national vote. He expressed his hopes for Iraq to continue its democratic development and achieve comprehensive progress.

The call included a review of the overall bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them in a manner that supports regional stability and serves the interests of both the Iraqi and Iranian peoples.
