U.S. President Donald Trump arrived in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday, where he was welcomed at the airport by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and U.S. Ambassador Edgar Kagan.
The reception featured a festive moment as Trump joined local dancers performing a traditional welcoming dance. Smiling and engaging in the joyful scene, he impressed attendees in an atmosphere filled with warmth and enthusiasm.
Also present to greet him were a delegation of Malaysian officials and Joey Sakurai, the acting chargé d'affaires of the U.S. mission to ASEAN.
American flags were flown, and traditional Malaysian music played in his honor before Trump exchanged a brief conversation with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
According to a Novosti correspondent, “Trump’s participation in the dance drew loud applause from over 2,500 journalists gathered at the media center covering the summit.”
Separately, Trump had previously announced that the signing of a declaration to resolve the conflict between Thailand and Cambodia would take place upon his arrival in Malaysia. He is also scheduled to hold talks with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on issues of mutual interest.
