Qatar Announces Immediate Ceasefire Agreement Between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

On Sunday, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Pakistan and Afghanistan have agreed to an “immediate” ceasefire during talks held in Doha, mediated by Qatar and Turkey. The agreement follows deadly Pakistani airstrikes that killed at least 10 people after a previous truce had collapsed.

In its statement, the ministry said both sides agreed to an immediate cessation of hostilities and to establish mechanisms aimed at fostering lasting peace and stability between the two countries.

The statement added that both parties committed to holding follow-up meetings in the coming days to ensure the sustainability and reliable implementation of the ceasefire.

Qatar’s Foreign Ministry expressed hope that this significant step would help end tensions along the border between the two nations.

Meanwhile, Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif confirmed that both Pakistan and Afghanistan would honor the ceasefire agreement signed in Doha. He also noted that a follow-up meeting between the two delegations is scheduled for October 25 in Istanbul.
