Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that his country has seized nearly 5,000 square kilometers of territory in Ukraine in 2025, asserting that Moscow maintains full strategic initiative on the battlefield.
Speaking at a meeting with senior Russian military commanders, Putin said that Kyiv is attempting to launch attacks deep into Russian territory, but these efforts will not change the situation.
He emphasized that Russia’s military-industrial complex fully meets the needs of the armed forces and is rapidly developing modern weapons.
Putin stated, “Companies within the military-industrial complex fully meet the armed forces’ needs for precision weapons, missiles, ammunition, arms, and military equipment. In addition to scheduled deliveries, the development and deployment of modern weapons is progressing at an accelerated pace.”
Meanwhile, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov announced that intensive strikes on Ukrainian military facilities are continuing according to the General Staff’s plan, with priority given to targeting production sites for long-range missile systems and drones.
