Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi announced that he would invite U.S. President Donald Trump to attend a potential agreement signing in Egypt if one is reached during the ongoing negotiations in Sharm El-Sheikh.
During a speech at the Police Academy in Cairo, President Sisi highlighted Egypt’s continuous efforts over the past two years to end the war in Gaza.
He added, “Negotiations to end the war are currently taking place in Sharm El-Sheikh, and our hearts are with these talks. I express deep appreciation and respect for President Trump’s genuine will to end the war during this round of negotiations.”
Sisi also sent a message to President Trump, urging him to continue supporting efforts to reach an agreement on Gaza, reaffirming Egypt’s commitment to positively engaging with the Palestinian cause.
He concluded, “The news I’ve received from the Sharm El-Sheikh meetings is encouraging, and we hope to seize this opportunity and are keen for the war to end in the current round of negotiations.”
