U.S. President Donald Trump warned that Hamas would face “complete annihilation” if it refused to relinquish authority and control over Gaza.

In an interview with CNN, aired that, Trump said he expects to know soon whether Hamas is committed to peace, as part of his efforts to implement a plan to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip.

When asked whether Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu supports halting the bombing in Gaza and endorses the broader American vision, Trump did not elaborate.

It is noted that a Hamas delegation is set to engage in indirect talks with an Israeli delegation in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, to discuss “lists of prisoners whom Israel must release” in exchange for Israeli hostages.

A Palestinian official familiar with the negotiations revealed that the indirect talks will involve “exchange of messages between the two sides (Hamas and Israel) through Egyptian and Qatari mediators.”

According to Trump’s plan, Israel would release 250 Palestinian prisoners serving life sentences, along with more than 1,700 Palestinians from Gaza who were detained after October 7, 2023.
