A powerful earthquake measuring 6.7 on the Richter scale struck Eastern Visayas in the Philippines on Tuesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center reported that there is no tsunami threat following the quake, which occurred at a shallow depth of approximately 11 kilometers.
Local authorities stated that there were no immediate reports of casualties or major damage. However, emergency teams have begun inspecting buildings and infrastructure in Cebu City and surrounding provinces.
