The media office of the Prime Minister announced on Wednesday that Iraqi citizens detained in Saudi Arabia have been received and will be returned to Baghdad on a special flight.
According to the statement, "Under the direction of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani, and out of his commitment to follow up on the affairs of Iraqi citizens around the world, a delegation headed by the Director of the Prime Minister’s Office, Ihsan Al-Awadi, was dispatched to the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on Tuesday evening."
The statement added, "The official delegation received the Iraqi citizens who had been detained in the Kingdom for various reasons. They will be returned to Baghdad today, Wednesday, on a special flight."
It also noted, "The Iraqi delegation conveyed the Prime Minister’s greetings and appreciation to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, who, during his meeting at the Doha Summit held in mid-September, pledged to work toward the release of the detainees—affirming the fraternal relations between the two countries."
