On Wednesday, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani received Bishop Athanasius Touma Dawood, the head of the Syriac Orthodox community in Britain.

During the meeting, they reviewed the role of various religious institutions in promoting the principles of peaceful coexistence, spreading a culture of tolerance, and enhancing social integration among all segments of Iraqi society.

His Excellency affirmed that Iraq takes pride in its religious, social, and cultural diversity, highlighting the government's firm commitment to guaranteeing the rights and freedoms of all communities—religious and social alike—as well as their active participation in building the nation.

Prime Minister Al-Sudani emphasized the importance of cooperation in confronting hate speech and racism and in working to strengthen harmony and shared values among all components of the Iraqi people.

For his part, Bishop Athanasius Touma Dawood expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Prime Minister for the government's efforts in reconstruction campaigns, establishing stability—especially in the Nineveh Plains—and contributing to unity among the diverse segments of the Iraqi people, serving the community, and reinforcing a culture of peaceful coexistence and love.
