On Tuesday, the Arab Football Association granted Iraq the right to host three official tournaments in the coming years.
The hosting agreement was signed by Ali Jabbar, first vice president of the Iraqi Football Association, representing Iraq at the meeting held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The first tournament is scheduled for 2026.
According to a statement issued by the Arab Football Association, Iraq will host the Arab Cup for U-20 youth in 2026, as well as the Arab Cup for U-17 youth in both 2027 and 2029. This marks a significant milestone reflecting the Iraqi Football Association’s growing stature and its improved hosting capabilities at both the Gulf and regional levels.
