The Iraqi National Security Advisory announced on Sunday an upcoming visit by the Secretary of the Russian National Security Council to Baghdad, scheduled for mid-month.
According to a statement from the media office of Iraq’s National Security Advisor, Qasim al-Araji received the Russian Ambassador to Baghdad, Elbrus Kutrashev, at his office today.
During the meeting, al-Araji and the Russian ambassador discussed strengthening bilateral relations and prospects for joint cooperation between the two countries, particularly in combating terrorism and exchanging information and expertise. They also addressed the anticipated visit of the Russian National Security Council Secretary later this month.
The two sides reviewed the latest developments in the region and the world, including the genocide and starvation crimes in Gaza. They emphasized the urgent need to end the suffering of the Palestinian people through genuine international action and pressure to achieve that goal.
