Iran Confirms: Nuclear Talks to Be Held with the Troika Tomorrow in Geneva.

Iran has put speculation to rest by announcing that nuclear talks will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, in Geneva with the European Troika (France, Germany, and the United Kingdom), which are parties to the 2015 nuclear agreement.

This new round of negotiations follows a previous round held last July in Istanbul and will take place “at the level of deputy foreign ministers,” with Majid Takht-Ravanchi representing the Iranian side, according to Tasnim News Agency.

“Snapback Mechanism”

Takht-Ravanchi had previously shown flexibility in statements regarding the possibility of Iran agreeing to reduce some of its nuclear activities in exchange for the lifting of Western sanctions.

Tomorrow’s meeting comes just months before the deadline for reactivating the “snapback mechanism” outlined in the nuclear agreement, which expires in October.

It also follows earlier negotiations between representatives of the European Troika and Tehran, which failed to mediate between Tehran and Washington to reach a new agreement on Iran’s nuclear program.
