The Israeli army announced on Saturday evening that it is beginning preparations to relocate residents of the Gaza Strip from combat zones to the south, starting Sunday.
According to a statement from the army spokesperson, the relocation operation will begin on Sunday “to ensure the safety of Gaza’s residents,” as per directives from the political leadership.
Spokesperson Avichay Adraee noted that tents and shelter equipment will once again be provided to Gaza residents and that the transportation of supplies will be facilitated through the Kerem Shalom crossing by the United Nations and international relief organizations, following thorough inspection by personnel from the Israeli Ministry of Defense’s Land Crossings Authority.
He affirmed that the Israeli army will continue to operate through the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) in accordance with international law to allow the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.
