Trump Removes Obama and Bush from White House Spotlight.

In a move that stirred controversy, U.S. President Donald Trump issued directives regarding the portraits of his predecessors Barack Obama and George Bush (both father and son).

Trump ordered the relocation of the former presidents’ portraits from public areas to a private section of the White House that is off-limits to visitors.

CNN revealed that Obama’s portrait—he was the 44th President of the United States—which had previously been displayed at the White House entrance, has now been moved to the top of the staircase leading to the private residential quarters. This area is accessible only to the First Family, Secret Service personnel, and a very limited number of staff.

The move reflects ongoing tensions between Trump and Obama, especially after Trump recently accused his predecessor of “treason” in connection with investigations into alleged Russian interference in the U.S. elections. It also highlights longstanding friction with the Bush family, despite George W. Bush and his wife attending Trump’s inauguration in January.

Trump is known to personally oversee even the smallest details of internal changes within the White House. He previously replaced Obama’s portrait in the main hallway with a painting depicting an assassination attempt that occurred during Trump’s campaign in Pennsylvania.

Traditionally, portraits of former presidents are prominently displayed in areas accessible to White House visitors, making this decision a notable departure from established protocol.
