Critical Cabinet Meeting in Israel… Netanyahu is moving toward a full occupation of the Gaza Strip.

Briefings from the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ahead of the mini-security cabinet meeting emphasized that the option of fully occupying the Gaza Strip has become Netanyahu’s strongest consideration.

It remains unclear whether the decision has been finalized or if it’s a last-ditch effort to pressure for an agreement on a hostage exchange and ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

According to a political source in Israel, the prime minister is leaning toward making a decision to fully occupy the Gaza Strip for military resolution and to recover hostages.

Close associates of Netanyahu said that if this decision is made, it would have prior American approval, though the final decision rests with the mini-security cabinet.

Amid disagreements with the military leadership, Netanyahu reportedly stated in closed sessions that if the Chief of Staff refuses to carry out orders, he may resign.

Eyal Zamir canceled a work visit to the United States due to potential developments. It’s noted that the army opposes full occupation because it would involve entering areas generally avoided due to the presence of live hostages, such as Deir al-Balah in the center of the Strip, which could put their lives at risk.
