On Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the United States is close to completing a trade agreement with China and will impose direct tariffs on most countries around the world.

Speaking at an event on artificial intelligence in Washington, Trump also stated that Washington is engaged in serious trade talks with the European Union and would impose lower tariffs on the bloc if it opens its market to American companies, according to Reuters.
