The official spokesperson for the Iraqi government, Basim Al-Awadi, strongly condemned the ongoing brutal blockade imposed by the Israeli occupation on the Gaza Strip, calling for an end to the policy of starvation and urging relevant entities to pressure the occupying authorities for the immediate entry of humanitarian and relief aid into the region.

Al-Awadi affirmed that this blockade is part of a systematic and inhumane policy aimed at starving the Palestinian people. He highlighted scenes of hungry children standing in long lines searching for food and men and women pushing through crowds for scarce aid supplies—images that reflect horrific, unethical practices requiring urgent action to lift the blockade and deliver relief to those affected.

He stressed that major powers, international organizations, and institutions now face a real test of their commitment to upholding the rule of law, maintaining peace, and defending human rights principles in the face of these grave violations.
