The Supreme Judicial Council Hosts a Meeting to Discuss Procedures for the Upcoming Parliamentary Elections.

The Supreme Judicial Council hosted a meeting on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, attended by the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Dr. Faiq Zaidan; the Vice Presidents of the Federal Court of Cassation—Judge Kazem Abbas, head of the judicial body for appeals against the decisions of the Accountability and Justice Commission, and Judge Hassan Fouad, head of the judicial body responsible for appeals against decisions of the Electoral Commission; the President of the Integrity Commission, Dr. Mohammed Ali Muftin, along with a number of general directors from the commission; and the Director of the Electoral Department in the Independent High Electoral Commission, Amer Al-Husseini.

During the meeting, preparations and procedures of each entity for the upcoming parliamentary elections were discussed.

The attendees emphasized the need to provide all means necessary to hold the elections on their scheduled date of November 11, 2025, and to address negative practices by certain parties and candidates involving the illegal use of political money. They also stressed the importance of taking legal measures against any unlawful activities that undermine the transparency and integrity of the elections, working toward the shared goal under the slogan “Preventing the Unworthy from Reaching Power.
