On Wednesday, the Israeli army announced the deployment of additional drones and fighter jets to the Syrian front. The army stated, “We remain committed to our close alliance with our Druze brothers.”

Israeli media reported that the Chief of Staff had ordered a significant transfer of air force units to the Syrian front.

?? Airstrikes resumed Wednesday on Damascus, targeting the presidential palace and Syria’s Ministry of Defense. According to Israeli outlets, the strikes aimed specifically at the Presidential Palace and the Syrian General Staff building. The bombing of the Ministry of Defense reportedly resulted in fatalities and injuries.

The Israeli Ministry of Defense declared that “painful strikes on Syria have begun,” and Channel 12 reported that “various military units are currently attacking Syria.”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated, “The Israeli army is working to rescue our Druze brothers and to eliminate regime gangs.”

 Israeli army radio announced preparations to deploy two military divisions to the Golan Heights and Syria.

Meanwhile, the U.S. envoy to Syria emphasized the need for “meaningful dialogue leading to a permanent ceasefire,” adding, “Washington strongly condemns the violence against civilians in Sweida.”

Later on, Wednesday, Israel bombed the entrance to the General Staff compound at Syria’s Ministry of Defense in Damascus, triggering a powerful explosion heard across parts of the capital. The Israeli army confirmed the strike and said it continues to monitor developments and attacks against Druze civilians in Syria. Acting on political directives, it maintains readiness for various scenarios.

 According to Israel’s public broadcaster, the attack on Damascus was intended as a warning and targeted the vicinity of the Syrian army’s main base.
