Turning the Church into a Tool of Influence and Partisan Incitement... Bishop Saad Sirop Resigns in Protest Against Sako Without Being Removed.

The esteemed Bishop Saad Sirop has submitted his resignation from his position as Apostolic Visitor for Chaldean Catholics in Europe. He released documents and evidence of his resignation submitted to His Holiness Pope Leo XIV in Italian, accompanied by a full Arabic translation. His resignation came as a protest against Patriarch Louis Sako and the policies he follows in leading the Chaldean Church.

Bishop Saad Sirop emphasized that he refuses to be a false witness in an institution that, in his view, is being stripped of the true essence of the Gospel—referring to actions by Sako, whom he accused of distorting facts and misrepresenting positions. He stated that the Patriarchate had betrayed the trust of its servants.

He further accused Sako of turning the Church into an instrument of influence, incitement, and partisanship—completely contradicting the path it was meant to follow and the noble teachings of Christianity.
