The Supreme Judicial Council of Iraq announced on Wednesday the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for judicial cooperation in combating terrorism with the United Kingdom.
According to a statement from the council, its president, Judge Faiq Zidan, visited the British Foreign Office.
The statement added that during the visit, the MoU was signed in the presence of the Minister of State for the Middle East, Hemiš Falkoner; the Director of the Middle East Department, Steven Hicky; and the Iraqi Ambassador to London, Jaafar al-Sadr.
Judge Faiq Zidan had arrived in London on Monday in response to an official invitation to sign the MoU between the Supreme Judicial Council and the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office regarding judicial and legal cooperation.
