On Tuesday evening, former U.S. President Donald Trump declared that the United States has established “complete and total control” over Iranian airspace, using language that suggests Washington may be involved in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran.
In a post on his platform, Truth Social, Trump stated, “We now have complete and total control of the skies over Iran. Iran had good air tracking systems and other defensive equipment, and in large quantities.”
He continued, “But it doesn’t compare to what America makes, invents, and produces. Nobody does it better than the great United States of America.”
Trump added, “We know exactly where Iran’s Supreme Leader is hiding. He’s an easy target, but we won’t kill him—at least not for now,” noting that “our patience with Iran is running out, and they must surrender unconditionally.”
He emphasized, “We don’t want to launch a missile strike on Iran for fear that our soldiers might be put at risk.”
This comes amid ongoing calls from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the United States to stand by Israel in its war with Iran.⁽¹⁾⁽²⁾⁽³⁾
