On Sunday, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) announced that the United States had reduced its oil imports from Iraq during the past week and did not import any quantities from Saudi Arabia or Libya.
In a table reviewed by Shafaq News Agency, the EIA stated that "the average U.S. crude oil imports from eight major countries last week was 5.456 million barrels per day, a decrease of 35,000 barrels per day compared to the previous week, which had averaged 5.491 million barrels per day."
It added, "Iraq's oil exports to the U.S. averaged 84,000 barrels per day, down by 130,000 barrels per day from the previous week, which had averaged 214,000 barrels per day."
The administration noted that "most of America's oil imports last week came from Canada at an average of 3.835 million barrels per day, followed by Mexico with 526,000 barrels, Brazil with 467,000 barrels, Ecuador with 184,000 barrels, and Nigeria with 142,000 barrels per day."
According to the data, "U.S. oil imports from Venezuela averaged 130,000 barrels per day and from Colombia 79,000 barrels per day, while no oil was imported from Saudi Arabia or Libya."
