Protests Continue and Clashes Erupt in the Heart of Texas and California.

The cities of Houston and San Antonio in Texas have witnessed ongoing angry demonstrations in protest against what was described as the “inhumane escalation” of efforts to detain and deport undocumented immigrants in Los Angeles.

The protests in Texas appeared largely peaceful, with social media images and videos showing participants sharing food and marching through the streets holding signs demanding an end to deportations and calling for respect for human dignity.

In contrast, Texas Governor Greg Abbott praised President Donald Trump’s stance, writing on his social media accounts, “What’s happening is an organized attack on federal law enforcement… It’s time to empower authorities to enforce U.S. laws without hesitation.”

Meanwhile, in California—particularly Los Angeles, home to one of the largest Latino communities in the country—violent protests erupted in response to immigration raids that led to dozens of arrests. Those detained were reportedly accused either of entering the country illegally or of being affiliated with criminal gangs.

Tensions escalated on Monday as clashes broke out between protesters and security forces, prompting California’s governor to announce plans to file a lawsuit against President Trump in opposition to his decision to deploy National Guard troops in the city.

The United Nations called for avoiding further “militarization” of the situation, warning of a worsening humanitarian crisis.

Additionally, the U.S. military announced the deployment of 700 Marines to help “secure” the city, heightening concerns over a possible escalation into open conflict between federal authorities and urban communities opposing forced deportation policies.
