, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu agreed to the latest ceasefire proposal from U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff for Gaza.

According to Israel’s Channel 13, an Israeli official confirmed that Israel has accepted the proposal and is now waiting for Hamas' response.

However, a source told Axios that Hamas is likely to reject the U.S. envoy's proposal.

Details of the New U.S. Proposal

According to Israeli media, the new deal proposed by Witkoff includes

- The release of 9 living hostages and 18 deceased hostages,

- Their release in two phases over one week.

In exchange, Israel will commit to a 60-day ceasefire, during which negotiations to end the war will take place.

If an agreement is not reached at the end of the negotiations, Israel may either resume military operations or continue talks in exchange for releasing more hostages.
