The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs has dismissed claims that U.S. President Donald Trump issued a two-week ultimatum to Iran to end the presence of armed factions in Iraq.
Official Iraqi Response
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry clarified that a recent report published online, widely circulated on various media platforms, carried a misleading headline stating, "Trump allows Iran two weeks to withdraw its militias from Iraq."
The ministry refuted the report’s claims that Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein had delivered a message from President Trump to Iranian leadership regarding the matter.
Condemnation of False Reports
The ministry emphasized that the report lacked credibility, stating:
"This report is not based on any official source and represents an example of unprofessional media practices aimed at spreading false and misleading information, negatively influencing public opinion, and deliberately distorting Iraq’s image."
Transparency in Iraqi Foreign Policy
The Iraqi Foreign Ministry reiterated that official government statements are the only reliable source for information regarding Iraq’s foreign policy, affirming its commitment to transparency and adherence to international law.
