Israel Strikes Target Near Presidential Palace in Damascus Reaffirms Pledge to Protect Druze Community.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Friday morning that Israel had attacked a target near the presidential palace in Damascus, reiterating his commitment to protecting the Druze minority in Syria.

This marks the second Israeli strike on Syria in two days, following Israel’s pledge to defend the Druze community.

In a joint statement with Defense Minister Yisrael Katz, Netanyahu said, "Israel launched an airstrike near the presidential palace in Damascus last night (Thursday night)."

He added, "This is a clear message to the Syrian regime. We will not allow Syrian forces to deploy south of Damascus or pose any threat to the Druze."

The Israeli military also issued a statement, saying that Israeli warplanes carried out an air raid near President Ahmed Hussein Al-Sharaa’s palace in Damascus, without specifying the exact target.

The Syrian authorities have not yet issued an official response to the attack.
