The Civil Defense Directorate announced on Tuesday that it had fully contained a massive fire that broke out inside a giant warehouse for electrical appliances in the Aweerij area, southwest of Baghdad.

 the Directorate stated that civil defense teams quickly mobilized after the fire erupted, successfully isolating the burning stockpile and directly attacking the fire's epicenter. This swift action ensured full control over the blaze, with no reported human injuries and minimal material losses.

the Directorate has called for an investigation by the relevant police station in the area of the incident. It also requested the presence of a forensic expert to determine the causes of the fire and to hold accountable those responsible for neglecting occupational safety measures, despite prior warnings issued by the Civil Defense Directorate.
