The Russian Foreign Ministry announced on Wednesday that 21 British Members of Parliament have been added to its "ban list," preventing them from entering Russian territory. This move was made in response to what Moscow described as the "hostile policies" of the UK.

Previously, Russian Ambassador to London Andrei Kelin stated that relations between Russia and Britain are currently experiencing a deep crisis, with increasing pressure on Russian diplomats in the UK.

Leonid Ivlev, a State Duma deputy from Crimea, described UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s call for a plan to contain Russia as a reflection of "British aggressive nature." Meanwhile, British diplomat Ian Proud suggested that Prime Minister Starmer should focus on ending the Ukraine conflict and repairing relations with Russia.

On March 10, the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) reported that the second secretary of the British embassy in Moscow and the spouse of another British diplomat provided false information about themselves and were suspected of engaging in espionage and sabotage. Their accreditations were revoked, and they were ordered to leave Russia.

In response, on March 12, the British Foreign Office revoked the credentials of a Russian embassy staff member in London and the spouse of a Russian diplomat.
