The Iraqi government announced on Saturday its agreement to supply Lebanon with fuel.
A statement from the prime minister’s media office revealed that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani held telephone discussions with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri earlier in the day.
Al-Sudani expressed Iraq's commitment to supporting Lebanon's security and stability across all its components, as well as contributing to its reconstruction. He affirmed his approval to grant Iraq's Ministry of Oil an exception to supply Lebanon with fuel for six months.
The prime minister also highlighted Berri's active role in Lebanon's political landscape and condemned the ongoing criminal assaults, particularly the one that occurred yesterday in the southern suburb of Beirut, which he stated aligns with the occupying entity's efforts to reimpose war.
In response, Nabih Berri extended his gratitude to the prime minister for his supportive stance toward Lebanon and its sovereignty, emphasizing the importance of maintaining strong communication with Iraq across various fields.
