The Holy See Press Office confirmed the stable health condition of Pope Francis and shared updates about his current recovery period.
Providing an overview of the Pope's health during his convalescence at the Domus Sanctae Marthae, where he returned after leaving Gemelli Hospital, the Press Office described stable conditions and improvements in his breathing, movement, and speech.
According to the Vatican News website, the gradual reduction of nasal oxygen use continues during the day, while mechanical ventilation is also being scaled down at night. Among the updates shared by the press office during a briefing were normal blood test results for His Holiness. The Pope spends his time alternating between treatment, prayer, rest, and light work.
The Press Office also emphasized that Vatican departments continue to send documents to Pope Francis and noted there have been no notable private visits. Matteo Bruni, the Press Office Director, responded to a question about individuals meeting the Pope during his recovery, stating that the Pope interacts with medical staff, secretaries, and his closest collaborators. Bruni added that Pope Francis has remotely followed the Lenten reflection of the Preacher of the Papal Household.
