The Sudanese army announced that it has gained full control over the capital, Khartoum, a week after reclaiming the presidential palace from the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in a large-scale offensive.
In a statement, Sudanese army spokesperson Nabil Abdullah said, "Our forces today (Thursday) managed to clear the last pockets of the remnants of the Al-Daglo terrorist militia in Khartoum locality," referring to the Rapid Support Forces led by Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, which have been engaged in conflict with the Sudanese forces since April 2023.
