Refugees Returning Association: Over 30000 Citizens Have Migrated from Kurdistan to Europe Since 2023.

The Refugees Returning Association in Kurdistan announced that more than 30,000 citizens have left the Kurdistan Region for European countries since 2023, seeking better opportunities amid difficult economic and living conditions.

According to the association's statistics, over 1,500 people have migrated from the region in the first three months of the current year alone, indicating an ongoing increase in migration rates.

The association also revealed that 83 migrants lost their lives between 2023 and 2024 during their arduous journeys to Europe, facing numerous dangers, including drowning and abuses on illegal migration routes.

Additionally, the association noted that the daily migration rate from the Kurdistan Region stands at at least 20 individuals, reflecting the scale of challenges driving citizens to opt for migration despite the risks and hardships they may encounter along the way.

Local and international reports attribute the rising wave of migration from the region to worsening economic conditions, high unemployment rates, and political challenges, prompting many youths and families to seek a better life abroad.
