Ansar Allah (Houthis) announced on Thursday morning that they launched a ballistic missile targeting Ben Gurion Airport in Israel, asserting their intention to disrupt "Israeli navigation" in the Red Sea.
In a statement, the Houthis claimed their forces "intensified targeting of hostile warships in the Red Sea, including the U.S. aircraft carrier USS Harry Truman and its accompanying vessels." The statement detailed that the attack involved several ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as drones.
The Houthis added that U.S. strikes "will fail to prevent Yemen from targeting the Israeli enemy in response to its massacres against our brothers in Gaza." They also emphasized their commitment to "continuing to block Israeli navigation until the aggression stops and the siege on the Palestinian people in Gaza is lifted.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army announced that it intercepted a missile launched from Yemen early Thursday before it entered Israeli airspace. Army spokesperson Avichay Adraee stated on the platform "X" that "the Air Force intercepted the missile launched from Yemen shortly before it breached Israeli airspace.
On Wednesday, the Houthi-affiliated Al-Masirah channel reported new U.S. strikes on several Yemeni areas. The channel stated that "American aggression targeted Sanaa and the vicinity of Saada city," later mentioning strikes on "Al-Sawadiyah district in Al-Bayda governorate." It reported that the strike on Sanaa "hit an under-construction event hall in Al-Thawra district, damaging several nearby homes," adding that "civil defense teams are working to extinguish fires caused by the aggression.
Flames and smoke rose over the Yemeni capital, while police cordoned off the area. Houthi Health Ministry spokesperson Anis Al-Asbahi stated on "X" that the strike on Sanaa injured seven women and two children, according to preliminary figures.
Later, Al-Masirah reported that "American aggression targeted Al-Hazm district" in Al-Jawf governorate, northeast of the capital, noting that the strike hit "Al-Shaab livestock farm, killing numerous animals.
Since last weekend, Washington has launched an air campaign against the Houthis, resulting in 53 deaths and 98 injuries on Saturday. In response, the Houthis have repeatedly targeted a U.S. aircraft carrier in the Red Sea.
Amid these strikes, U.S. President Donald Trump vowed on Wednesday to "completely eliminate" the Houthis. On his platform "Truth Social," Trump wrote, "Significant damage has been inflicted on the savage Houthis. Watch how the situation will gradually deteriorate. This is not a fair fight, and it will never be. They will be completely eliminated.
In addition to claiming to have targeted the USS Harry Truman four times in the Red Sea, the Houthis also took responsibility on Tuesday for launching a missile toward Israel, which was intercepted by Israeli air defenses before entering its airspace, according to the Israeli army.
This marked the first missile attack on Israel from Yemen since the Gaza ceasefire took effect on January 19. Notably, this escalation followed a series of intense Israeli strikes on Gaza.
