Head of Endowments for Christian Yazidi and Mandaean Religions Meets with Al-Sudani to Discuss Strengthening Religious Pluralism.

The head of the Endowment Office for Christian, Yazidi, and Mandaean religions, Rami Joseph Agajan, met today, Saturday, with Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani to discuss strengthening partnerships with governmental and international entities to support the rights of religious components in Iraq.

A statement from the Endowment Office, received by Al-Awla, stated that Agajan met with the Prime Minister in a meeting that addressed several key issues related to the office’s work and its role in promoting religious pluralism in Iraq.

During the meeting, the Endowment Office's head reviewed the notable achievements made in a short period, including the restoration of several properties and endowments belonging to religious communities, as well as the enhancement of partnerships with governmental and international bodies to support their rights. Additionally, the office has accelerated the implementation of service projects, particularly the rehabilitation and restoration of several places of worship and religious sites.

Agajan emphasized that these accomplishments align with the office’s vision of protecting religious diversity, strengthening the presence of religious communities, and ensuring their full rights, thereby reinforcing the principles of peaceful coexistence and equal citizenship.

For his part, the prime minister praised the office’s efforts, reaffirming the government’s full support for all initiatives that promote social stability and protect the rights of all communities, reflecting the values of justice and equality that Iraq seeks to uphold.
