Our focus and attention are directed toward maintaining security and stability in Iraq, which is of utmost importance.
We respect all our neighbors and maintain good relations with them, as well as with all regional countries. We exchange daily visits and delegations with European countries, countries beyond Europe, Asian nations, Arab states, and Middle Eastern countries. All of them come to Iraq, and we send delegations to these countries. The era of conflicts is over.
We have taken positive steps within Iraq. For example, the relationship between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the central government is good, with regular exchanges of views, delegations, and visits almost daily. Additionally, we have focused on improving services, though it will take some time to enhance all these services.
We face challenges, as the latest census in Iraq shows a population of 46 million. Among these 46 million, 60% were born after 2003. We have a large number of graduates, perhaps more than any other country, due to the number of universities and the academic life we have.
I believe we can play an important role in the region. We have worked to bring closer perspectives between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to resume diplomatic relations between them, benefiting everyone. We have also made some proposals to Jordan and other countries.
Syria is an independent country with a new administration or new leaders. We hope the Syrian government reflects the will of the Syrian people, whether through elections or democratic steps that need to be taken. They should strive to include all sectors of society so that no one feels marginalized or treated as less than an ordinary citizen, ensuring equal treatment for all.
Our history is rich, dating back 6,000 to 7,000 years. The first law was in Iraq, the first irrigation system was in Iraq, the first agriculture was in Iraq, and the first construction of palaces or large buildings was in Iraq. Additionally, sciences, mathematics, and written messages all began in Iraq. Moreover, Iraq was a center for all religions.
We encourage the U.S. President to fulfill his promises to maintain world peace, which cannot be achieved without ending wars and conflicts, especially in our region. There are conflicts in Syria and Palestine, as well as issues in Lebanon, Yemen, Sudan, and Somalia.
