The ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Baghdad, Ruben Soghoyan, stated on Tuesday that Iraq is an important economic and trade partner for his country in the Middle East.
During a press conference held in Najaf Province, the ambassador discussed the development of Armenian-Iraqi relations in economic and cultural aspects, as well as Iraq's economic support post-2003.
Soghoyan highlighted that the relationship between Armenia and Iraq is historic and friendly, noting the presence of an Armenian community in Iraq. He emphasized that the relationship between the two countries is built on mutual understanding and respect.
He added, "We are now in a phase of revitalizing, cooperating, and expanding relations in all areas, including political, cultural, economic, trade, tourism, and academic scholarships." He further reiterated that "Iraq is an important economic and trade partner for Armenia in the Middle East.
