For the First Time in Iraq Artificial Intelligence Monitors Oil Wells.

The Iraqi Midland Oil Company announced on Thursday the introduction of artificial intelligence technology to monitor oil wells in the East Baghdad field, in collaboration with the Chinese company (EBS). This achievement is unprecedented in the country's oil industry.

The company stated that the new technology (DeepSeek-R1) provides continuous monitoring of individual wells, helping to overcome traditional manual inspection challenges, which used to cause delays in problem detection and response.

The company explained that the technology relies on "24/7 monitoring to ensure performance continuity," "reducing problem detection time to a few minutes," "quickly assessing risks and providing optimal recommendations," and "integrating the application into smartphones for easy monitoring.

The Iraqi Midland Oil Company confirmed that this development represents a pivotal step in updating oil fields in partnership with the operator, contributing to increased productivity, reduced costs, and environmental conservation.
