The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) reported on Sunday that a "massive fire" erupted in an industrial area in Greater Manchester, forcing hundreds of residents to evacuate their homes.
The agency mentioned that some residents had to leave their homes after a large fire broke out in a truck in the industrial area of Greater Manchester, leading to thick smoke and explosions in the area.
The Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service indicated that the fire, which involved heavy goods vehicles, broke out in the Ennis Close area, Wythenshawe, shortly after 8 p.m. GMT.
Ten fire engines initially dealt with the fire, but the number was reduced to four after nearly three hours of intensive efforts to extinguish the flames.
The Fire and Rescue Service issued warnings to local residents to "keep their windows and doors closed and avoid the area" due to the dense smoke and ongoing explosions.
Local resident Ben Meegan Carey said, "It sounded like fireworks, then it got louder," adding that "there were continuous explosions" lasting between five and ten minutes, with thick smoke visible in the sky.
The fire broke out in the Roundthorn Industrial Estate near Wythenshawe Hospital, with fire crews from across Greater Manchester called in to help extinguish the blaze.
