His Holiness Patriarch Mar Gewargis III Younan, Patriarch of the Ancient Church of the East in Iraq and the world, received a delegation from the Iraqi Christian community in Michigan, USA, led by Mr. Martin Mana, at the Patriarchate's headquarters in Baghdad.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the conditions of the Iraqi Christian community in the diaspora and the challenges they face, as well as ways to strengthen the bonds between the church and its members living abroad. The delegation also expressed their support for the Patriarchate's efforts to preserve the spiritual and cultural heritage of Christians in Iraq and to enhance their presence in society.
His Holiness Patriarch Mar Gewargis III Younan welcomed the delegation and praised the role played by the Iraqi Christian community in Michigan in supporting the church and its people. He emphasized the importance of continuous communication between the church and its members in the diaspora to reinforce spiritual and cultural ties.
At the end of the meeting, the delegation presented a commemorative shield to His Holiness as a token of appreciation and respect for his role in caring for the church and serving its members.
