Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani received the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Mr. Philippe Lazzarini, at his residence today, Friday, on the sidelines of his participation in the 61st Munich Security Conference.

Al-Sudani praised the important and vital role of the agency, which has contributed to assisting the Palestinian people throughout its decades of operation since the 1940s, as well as the significant efforts it made during the recent war in Gaza.

The Prime Minister offered his condolences for the agency's staff who lost their lives in the conflict, stressing the need for continued humanitarian work and the international role in addressing the impacts of the war and alleviating the suffering of the Palestinians.
