Taiwanese media reported on Thursday that an explosion in a commercial center in Taichung City's Situn District resulted in the death of one person and injured ten others.

The explosion occurred around 11 a.m. local time at the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi department store on the 12th floor, where a food court was under construction. Firefighters confirmed that one man was found dead at the scene, while a woman with no vital signs was transported to the hospital. Several other individuals were also injured, and emergency services are continuing their response protocols for mass casualty incidents.

Local authorities and fire services are still investigating the exact cause of the explosion.
