Dozens of protesting teachers and educators from Sulaimaniyah headed to Erbil on Sunday (February 9, 2025), intending to demonstrate in the regional capital.

A correspondent for "Al-Awla" reported that dozens of protesters from the educational staff headed to Erbil to demonstrate in front of the United Nations headquarters, protesting against the delayed salary payments and demanding their transfer to federal banks.

The correspondent added that security forces have tightened measures at the entrances to Erbil, preventing residents of Sulaimaniyah from entering.

The protesters mentioned that dozens of them had already entered Erbil earlier and were preparing to demonstrate today.
