An explosion shook a residential complex in Moscow on Monday, causing several casualties and injuries. Among the dead is Armen Sarkisian, founder of the "Arbat" volunteer battalion fighting in Ukraine alongside the Russian army, and one of his guards. Sarkisian was also the president of the Boxing Federation in the "Donetsk People's Republic," a name used by Russia for the region in eastern Ukraine it claims to have annexed.
Earlier today, a source in the emergency services told RIA Novosti that the explosion occurred at the entrance of a residential center in northwestern Moscow.
Russian emergency teams confirmed to TASS that the incident in the residential complex was caused by an unidentified explosive device. An emergency services source said, "An unidentified device exploded in the elevator, and bomb experts are currently working at the scene.
Security agencies informed TASS that the explosion in the residential complex was an assassination attempt. A security source stated, "The target of the explosion at the 'Alye Parusa' residential complex was an assassination attempt, and the identities of the perpetrators are being determined.
A large police force has been deployed around the building, with a helicopter hovering above.
