President-elect Donald Trump announced the appointment of Iraqi-American lawyer Alina Habba as a presidential advisor. She is part of his legal team in the "hush money" case in New York.

Alina Habba, 40, of Chaldean Iraqi descent, defended Trump earlier this year and served as his legal spokesperson. She has spent time with the president-elect since the elections at his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida.

In a post on his social network "Truth Social" on Sunday, Trump said about Alina, "She has been unwavering in her loyalty and unmatched in her determination, standing by my side through numerous trials and battles and countless days in court.
