On Tuesday, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani received a delegation from Stellar Energy, led by the company's CEO, Peter Gibson, during his official visit to London.
During the meeting, they reviewed the key projects that the company is implementing in Iraq in cooperation with the Ministry of Electricity. This includes the development of combined cycle power plants and mechanisms for operating them with gas. The two sides also discussed the upcoming agreement between the Ministry of Electricity and Stellar Energy, aimed at enhancing production and distribution in the energy sector.
Sudani reaffirmed the Iraqi government's commitment to expanding the energy sector, highlighting the importance of utilizing associated gas from crude oil production to operate power plants, achieving self-sufficiency for Iraq and eliminating gas flaring completely.
For his part, Mr. Gibson stated that the company is committed to executing its current projects according to the specified timelines and is ready to cooperate with Iraq in the areas of turbine cooling and other energy-related projects.
This meeting is part of the Iraqi government's efforts to strengthen partnerships with international companies and develop the country's energy infrastructure.
