In a statement published on its Facebook page, the embassy said that American officials met with the interim authorities in Damascus and raised the need to protect American citizens and determine the fate of missing Americans, such as Austin Tice and Majd Kamalmaz.
They also emphasized the continuation of the fight against ISIS, full representation of all Syrians, and ensuring an inclusive political process.
